Palm Springs, FL – At its annual meeting on May 23rd, 2017 the Health Care District of Palm Beach County’s Board of Commissioners unanimously re-elected its Board Chair and officers: Philip H. Ward, III, as Chair of the Health Care District Board, Brian R. Lohmann as Vice Chair, and Nancy C. Banner, Esq. as Secretary. Mr. Ward was appointed to the Health Care District Board by Florida Governor Rick Scott in October 2011 and was re-appointed in May 2016. He also serves on the District’s Quality Patient Safety and Compliance Committee.

It is an honor to continue my role as Chair of the Health Care District Board,” said Mr. Ward. “I look forward to working with my fellow Board members in the efficient operation of our diverse, public health care system.”

Mr. Ward is president and managing partner of Ward Damon, a multi-disciplined law firm which he co-founded in 1987. He is Chair of the county’s Infrastructure Surtax Independent Citizen Oversight Committee, the Vice Chair and member of the Board of Trustees of BIZPAC, former Chair of the Palm Beach Business Development Board, as well as a member of the Economic Council of Palm Beach County.

The Health Care District is governed by a seven-member Board. Three are appointed by the Governor of the State of Florida: Philip H. Ward, III, Chair, Nancy C. Banner, Esq., Secretary, and Leslie B. Daniels. Three are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners: Brian R. Lohmann, Vice Chair, Angeleta Gray and Sean O’Bannon. The seventh member is the Director of the State’s Department of Health for Palm Beach County, Alina M. Alonso, MD.
