What is Collaborative Law?
When a separating couple decides to choose collaborative approach, it allows them to dissolve their relationship through a process that distinctly emphasizes cooperation, respect, mutual outcomes, transparency, and privacy. The value of privacy is foremost in collaborative law and it starts with a pledge not to go to court. Unlike litigated divorce or paternity cases where family matters are handled inside a courtroom resulting in public filings, the collaborative process is performed out of court and keeps private family matters out of the public record.
Eddie Stephens is a board certified attorney in Family and Marital Law. After starting his career asan attorney for the Palm Beach County Property Appraiser’s Office, Stephens has developed a successful family law practice focused on highly disputed divorces. Stephens is also a popular and engaging motivational speaker and is involved with a number of charitable endeavors. Hehas been a leader in the Boy Scouts of America for over 10 years and is also involved with Big Dog Ranch Rescue, Palm Beach County’s largest no-kill dog rescue.
