West Palm Beach, FL (June 27, 2017) – Eddie E. Stephens III, a partner and marital and family law attorney at the West Palm Beach-based firm Ward Damon, was awarded the Florida Bar’s prestigious Alberto Romero Jr. Making a Difference Award for his dedication to making a difference for Florida's children and families through tireless service to the disadvantaged and underserved members of our community. Stephens also received the Family Law Section Unsung Hero Award in honor of his selfless willingness to provide his help and expertise whenever needed, and the Family Law Section Above and Beyond Award for exceeding all expectations during service to the Family Law Section. The awards were presented at the 67th Annual Florida Bar Convention that took place June 21-24, 2017 at the Boca Raton Resort & Club.
Laura Davis Smith, Chair of The Florida Bar Family Law Section, shared, “Mr. Stephens embodies the essence of the Making a Difference Award. He gives of his time and energy selflessly, not only to the Family Law Section but also to numerous community related charitable causes. He does this cheerfully, and with his heart and soul. And, he does it all along with managing a healthy law practice, parenting two amazing sons, and loving his wonderful wife, Jacquie. Eddie Stephens is a shining example of how to make a difference. It would be no surprise that his nomination was met with a unanimous and quick approval.”
